This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect personal information when you access or use the Kompete mobile application, web application, websites, athlete testing systems, connected equipment, events, reports, dashboards, and related products and services collectively referred to as the "Services."

Kompete provides athlete performance testing, analytics, benchmarking, development tools, training recommendations, reporting, and related services designed to help athletes and the organizations supporting them understand and improve athletic performance.

By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Where consent is required by applicable law, we will request that consent separately.

If you use Kompete through a team, academy, school, club, testing organization, sports organization, or other third party, that organization may also have its own privacy policies and responsibilities regarding your personal information.

We collect information needed to operate Kompete, provide athlete performance services, improve the platform, communicate with users, and maintain the security of our Services.

The information collected depends on how you interact with Kompete and the features you use.

AI-generated or automated recommendations are intended to support athletes, coaches, parents, and organizations. They should not be treated as guaranteed predictions of athletic success, selection, recruitment, medical condition, or future performance.

Where applicable law provides rights relating to automated decision-making or profiling, users may exercise those rights as described in this Policy.

We seek to use appropriate safeguards when personal information is processed using AI or automated systems.

Where third-party technology providers assist in delivering AI or analytics functionality, information provided to those providers will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the applicable function and handled in accordance with applicable contractual, privacy, and security requirements.

Kompete does not intend AI-generated insights to constitute medical advice.

4. Information Shared Through Teams and Organizations

Many Kompete users access the Services through a sports organization, academy, team, school, coach, testing provider, or similar organization.

Depending on your relationship with that organization, authorized users may be able to view information including:

  • Testing history
  • Performance results
  • Benchmark data
  • Reports
  • Workout information
  • Athlete-development information
  • Team membership
  • Progress information

Access should be limited according to account permissions and legitimate organizational purposes.

If an organization created or manages your account, that organization may determine certain purposes for which your information is processed. In such situations, the organization may have separate responsibilities under applicable privacy law.

Questions regarding how an organization independently uses your information should be directed to that organization.

We do not disclose personal information indiscriminately.

Information may be shared with coaches, administrators, teams, academies, parents, guardians, testing providers, or organizations that are authorized to access an athlete's information.

Access depends on the applicable relationship, account permissions, organization settings, and Services being used.

b. With Other Users at Your Direction

Where Kompete provides features for sharing athlete reports, recruiting profiles, verified results, or similar information, information may be shared according to the settings or actions associated with those features.

Users should carefully review information before making an athlete profile or performance report shareable.

c. With Service Providers

We may work with service providers that perform services on our behalf, including:

  • Data storage
  • Analytics
  • Customer support
  • Authentication
  • Communications
  • Payment processing
  • Security monitoring
  • Infrastructure services

Where possible and appropriate, benchmark datasets are aggregated or de-identified so that individual athletes are not identified within general benchmark statistics.

An athlete's identifiable results will not become publicly available solely because those results contribute to aggregate benchmarking.

7. Children and Youth Athletes

Kompete recognizes that its Services may be used by youth athletes.

Protecting children's and young people's personal information is particularly important to us.

Where required by applicable law, Kompete will obtain appropriate authorization or consent from a parent or legal guardian before collecting or processing personal information belonging to a child who cannot legally provide valid consent independently.

A youth athlete's account may also be established or administered through an authorized:

We seek to limit information collected from youth athletes to information reasonably necessary to provide athlete testing, development, training, reporting, and related Services.

We do not knowingly sell children's personal information for monetary consideration.

We do not intend to use children's personal information for behavioural advertising.

Parents and guardians may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of a child's information where they are legally entitled to do so.

Depending on age, maturity, jurisdiction, and applicable law, youth athletes may also be able to exercise privacy rights directly.

If we learn that children's information has been collected contrary to applicable legal requirements, we will take appropriate steps to address the issue, including deletion where required.

Certain information processed through Kompete may be considered sensitive under applicable law.
